The rapid development of China's auto industry has driven the development of the domestic auto parts industry. The automotive seal industry is one of the representatives. Since the 1980s, the development model of China's auto industry has mainly been joint ventures with foreign advanced auto companies. The car models are basically designed by foreign companies, and the standards adopted are also the standards directly adopted by foreign auto companies in developed regions. In the process of matching with these OEMs, domestic automobile sealing strip manufacturers gradually came into contact with the automobile sealing strip technology and standards in the relatively developed regions of the world's automobile industry. leap. But at the same time, in the matching process, automobile seal manufacturing enterprises often encounter standards and specifications of different companies and different systems. And because of the limited access to these standards, it brings certain difficulties to correct interpretation and understanding.

In the current situation where the country vigorously promotes independent development and protection of intellectual property rights, the author hopes that through analysis and comparison of foreign automobile seal standards, in the process of how to establish a standard system suitable for the healthy development of China's automobile seals, we will fully learn from others and develop independently The product provides the necessary support. Due to the limited sources of information, I can only briefly summarize, classify and analyze some of the technical standards and specifications of foreign automobile sealing strips based on the limited knowledge and understanding of the author's work.

1 Overview of automotive seal standards

The technical standards of automobile sealing strips are mainly composed of three parts: material performance standards, finished product performance standards and corresponding test method standards.

Product standards and material standards are usually based on the corporate standards of major automobile companies, and some implement industry association standards (such as JISO); the material properties in test method standards are usually based on publicly issued public standards, such as international standards, national standards, etc. Standards, industry standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, VDA, SAE, JIS, etc.). The finished product performance test method standard usually adopts the enterprise standard of major automobile companies. Table 1 lists some foreign enterprise standard codes for reference.

1. Material standards and specifications

The material standards of automobile seals are usually based on the enterprise standards of major automobile companies.

(1) Material standard representation

The material standard representation (on the drawing) can be divided into the following types:

①Represented by a specific code (that is, expressed by the material classification system);

② indicate the standard number used (usually this product standard number, material standards are part of it);

③ Mark the index directly on the drawing.

A specific code is used to express the material performance requirements, which usually consists of the basic part + additional parts, and special requirements can be added later. The basic part usually includes the basic properties of the rubber material such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break and oil resistance. The composition of additional parts is specified according to the specific performance requirements of the product, such as heat aging resistance, ozone aging resistance, low temperature resistance performance, compression permanent deformation, etc.

These specific codes are matched by a system of standard systems. For example, the trunk rubber seal of General Motors' Grand Hyatt series cars is directly represented by SAE J 200 "Rubber Material Classification System". The performance of the rubber compound is shown on the product diagram as:

It is interpreted according to the SAE J 200 standard, and the performance indicators and corresponding test methods are shown in Table 2. At present, some automobile companies use this kind of method for expressing material properties with specific codes, and their standards are shown in the table.

(2) Performance items in material standards

The standard items of automotive seal materials are mainly considered from the impact of basic material properties (such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break), life and environment, such as ozone aging resistance, media resistance, salt spray resistance, resistance Paint, permanent compression deformation, low temperature resistance, odor, flame retardant properties, restricted harmful substances, etc.

It is more reasonable to use this kind of project that is closely related to the basic performance of the material itself and less relevant to the product structure as a material project, because it can reflect the actual performance of the material and can directly use the existing more mature material standard test methods.
